This study aims to analyze the implementation of entrepreneurial mentoring
in a student startup program based on Project-Based Learning, identify the level of students’ entrepreneurial competencies after participating in the startup program, and examine the contribution of entrepreneurial mentoring to the development of entrepreneurial competencies. The study employed a mixed methods approach with a descriptive research design. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires completed by 70 Culinary Arts students who participated in the startup program for one semester, while qualitative data were obtained from students’ reflective experiences and business activity documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing students’ entrepreneurial competency levels before and after participation in the program The findings indicate that entrepreneurial mentoring was implemented very effectively, achieving an average score of 4.50 on a five-point scale. The mentoring activities perceived as most beneficial by students included assistance in solving business-related problems, motivational support, and guidance in business development. The results further reveal that all dimensions of entrepreneurial competency improved after participation in the startup program. The highest improvements were found in entrepreneurial confidence and business management skills, each increasing by 0.15 points, followed by teamwork and collaboration, which increased by 0.14 points. Furthermore, entrepreneurial mentoring contributed positively to the development of entrepreneurial competencies by enhancing students’ self-confidence, business management capabilities, teamwork skills, and problem-solving abilities. These findings suggest that integrating entrepreneurial mentoring with Project-Based Learning can serve as an effective educational strategy for fostering entrepreneurial competencies among university students.
